I am pleased to announce that Gazprom Group has restored in full natural gas supplies to cover demand of European customers which soared to extreme heights all over the continent in February 2012 due to the unprecedented cold snap.
Under the current abnormally cold weather conditions in Russia and in Europe, we manage to maintain stable and secure gas supplies to European customers, and this is achieved largely due to the use of underground gas storage facilities (UGS). During this peak demand period, Gazprom has been extracting gas from its UGS located in Europe to the maximum possible level — more than 38 mln cubic meters per day.
