International Theater Day

At the end of March 2019, more than 60 children from social institutions of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region attended performances of the leading theaters of the city. Off-site events were organized by IACU (International Association of Civil Unions) International Association for Culture with the support of Gazprom export LLC on the occasion of the International Theater Day, which is celebrated on March 27.

Children of the senior grades attended “The Gambler”, a play based on the story of the same title by F. M. Dostoevsky staged at the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater  and the “Don Quixote” ballet performed by the Yacobson Ballet Theater at the Lensovet Cultural Centre. Children of primary school age had a special program: a visit to the Marionette Theater named after Ye. S. Demmeni, where they saw the “Cat’s House” play.

The off-site events were attended by the children from St. Petersburg SBISS (State Budgetary Institutiuon of Social Services) Transit Social Shelter for Children, Pavlovsk Orphanage No. 4 for Mentally Disabled Children and St. Petersburg SBI Kolpino Center for Promoting Foster Families No. 9.
