New Year’s Charitable Events for Children in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast

In December 2019, in the run-up to the celebration of New Year, the House of the Future Non-Profit Organization, sponsored by Gazprom Export LLC, organized several charitable events in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast.

These events were attended by more than 1,000 children, including developmentally challenged children, wards of orphanages and care homes, pupils at special remedial schools, and children from large and low-income families.

On December 5 “The First Christmas Tree 2020!” was held at the Licedei Theatre. This fairy tale show featured memorable performances by young singers, children’s dance companies, and circus performers.

On December 10, as a warm-up for the forthcoming New Year celebrations, the Officers Club hosted a show featuring students and graduates of the Boris Eifman Dance Academy.

On December 16, festive cheer and warmth were brought to the Turner Institute of Children’s Orthopedics  when children undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the institute participated in an interactive show with Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.

On December 13 and 17, the philanthropists organized master classes in how to make carnival masks and Christmas tree decorations for wards of the Fostering Center (a home for abandoned and neglected children) in the town of Kolpino and Boarding School No. 1 for Mentally Challenged Children in the town of Petergof, whose condition prevents them from leaving their institutions.
