Cooperation with Macedonia’s gas industry began with the signing of a contract in 1991 with Makpetrol A.D. on construction of main and branch gas pipelines in this country on general contract terms. The construction was completed in 1997.

Russian gas exports to Macedonia began in 1997, and as of January 1, 2011, a total of about 1.05 billion cubic meters of the “blue fuel” have been exported, and in 2011 - about 130 million cubic meters.
