Charity events in St. Petersburg

In late December last year, the Moscow branch of the Assistance Center for socio-cultural and charitable projects supported by Gazprom Export held New Year festivities in St. Petersburg for patients of children’s hospitals, children from orphanages and socially vulnerable children. Participating at New Year events were more than 250 children of different ages.

A New Year show and gala dinner were held for children from the pediatric oncology wards of four hospitals in St. Petersburg in one of the restaurants in the city. The children watched with keen interest a performance titled “Christmas history” by artists from the Puppet Theatre. The young audience listened to a performance by young singer Anastasia Titova. Singer and composer Elena Pisarskaya also entertained the children with her songs. There were also, of course, a lot of interactive games and entertainment involving Father Frost (Santa Claus) and the Snow Maiden, who presented gifts to the children and wished them good health, fortitude, patience and good luck in the New Year. The celebration ended with drinking of tea with New Year cake and treats.

Another New Year event was held at an orphanage in the Republican Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases located at Ust-Izhora (Leningrad region). Visit by Father Frost and the Snow Maiden with presents, by artists with New Year performances, and by a magician with cheerful performances was a big and joyful event for the children. The young audience also had their own performances, while Anastasia Titova and famous singer Olga Favorskaya sang Christmas songs to the children.

On the eve of the Orthodox Christmas, January 6, over 50 children from among the socially vulnerable residents of St. Petersburg visited New Year performances at Anichkov Palace. The children had fun on rides and attractions before attending the show at Anichkov Palace, where they watched interesting performances and, of course, received Christmas gifts.

Through these activities, Gazprom Export successfully launched a children’s charity program in St. Petersburg.
