"Europe – China" Natural Gas Vehicles Rally Participants Arrived to Saint-Petersburg

The crews of NGV participating in the “Europe – China” natural gas motor rally organized by Gazprom, CNPC and KazMunaiGaz, arrived to St. Petersburg, completing the Russian stage of the route. Here, within the framework of the 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, its ceremonial finish will be attended by the representatives of the management of the companies-organizers of the rally. 

The length of the Russian stage of the rally amounted to 2,688 km. The route crossed Orenburg, Almetyevsk, Ufa, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, and Torzhok. The participants of the rally took part in the ceremony where buses fueled by natural gas were handed to transport enterprises of Kazan. The rally participants also attended a ceremonial beginning of construction of the first Gazprom’s LNG fueling station on the highway “Moscow – St. Petersburg”. In Nizhny Novgorod, gas-fueled vehicles, including those used in the rally, were demonstrated to public. 

Along the Russian part of the route, two Lada Vesta CNG biofuel vehicles have joined the caravan of 13 gas-powered trucks. 

After the ceremonial finish, the participants of the rally, as well as manufacturers of the related equipment and of transport companies will take part in the conference “Clean Energy of Silk Road” – the Future of International Transcontinental Natural Gas Motor Corridors”, where regulatory, infrastructural, technological and economical aspects of natural gas as motor fuel will be discussed.
