Sakhalin Energy Shipped Its 1900th Standard LNG Cargo from Prigorodnoye Port

According to Andrei Okhotkin, commercial director of Sakhalin Energy, the products are shipped and transported according as per the approved schedule despite the strict measures imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Even in today’s stressful conditions for the oil and gas sector, we are still successful in selling our LNG cargoes, owing to a combination of several key factors. Firstly, Sakhalin Energy is a very reliable company, which has been operating on the market for many years and has fully met its obligations. Secondly, we pay special attention to our customers, working with each one of them on an individual basis. And we benefit greatly from the proximity to the Asia-Pacific countries,” says Andrey Okhotkin.

Sakhalin Energy continuously monitors the situation unfolding in the key markets, evaluates existing risks and develops preventive and corrective measures, which, thanks to the coordinated and cohesive work of the Sakhalin-2 project team, allow to ensure continuity of production process and uninterrupted supply of products amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the company reports.

Asia-Pacific countries are the main buyer of Sakhalin LNG. In 2020 (as of 1 October), the most active buyers of liquefied natural gas produced at the LNG plant are Japan (50%), Taiwan (21%), South Korea (15%) and China (14%).
