Construction of the first section of Nis-Leskovac-Vranje main gas pipeline in Serbia completedRussian-Serbian JSC Yugorosgaz completed the construction of the first section of the MG-11 Nis-Leskovac-Vranje main gas pipeline and a 7-km municipal gas network in the town of Leskovac in the south of Central Serbia. The section has been put into operation. The gas network is ready to be connected to the first gas consumers – Yura and Nevena factories, IGM Mladost – a manufacturer of construction materials, and the municipal CHPP. The construction of the 52-km Nis-Leskovac first section of the MG-11 main gas pipeline started in September 2010. After installation of the second section ending in Vranje, the gas pipeline will stretch out for a total of 122 km. According to Adviser to the Serbian Prime-Minister for Energy Petar Skundric, who was present at the gas pipeline launch ceremony, investments in the project are worth 14.6 mln dollars. The adviser also said that now everything is ready to commence the construction of the second gas pipeline section towards Vranje. JSC Yugorosgaz is a company specializing in the construction of gas transmission systems, transport and trade of natural gas in Serbia, fifty percent of the company’s capital are held by Gazprom. From January 2007 Yugorosgaz started also to supply the Russian natural gas to Serbia.
